Default In need of help with my engine build 5.7 block swap to 6.0 but still use 5.7 ls1 top

So I threw a rod thru my 5.7 block on my 2000 ss camaro slp car 130,000 miles so I found a 6.0 out of a 2005 chevy Silverado I'm just wondering will I be able to use my top end from my ls1 knowing a rod shot thru the side of the block? Need info asap don't wanna spend money 1000x sort of on a budget build as of now wanna just swap the blocks out how many horses am i looking to get with a Ls1 top end with a lq9 6.0 block

Yes it will work, and this is exactly what I did. If nothing else changes during the swap you'll gain a little more torque but hp will remain very close

Kool so that means all I have to do I take all my top end pieces and remove the 6.0 heads to the 241s I have on the ls1 intake fuel rails etc shouldn't have to tear the block down for modification right ?

Whats are the 6.0 heads, 243/799's? If so screw the 241's and pick up a LS6 intake.

not true. you will have to drill and tap one hole in the block for the 3rd alternator bracket bolt though

So is it safe to say with the 6.0 after I change top end to ls1 I should have a pretty good amount of power even with out throwing a cam on there just yet right knowing the 6.0 has more compression then the 5.7?

That cam won't have a choppy idle at all but it will make a little more power than the stock cam. Will you be running an aftermarket exhaust or any other bolt on mods?

Will I b able to switch the cam out further down the road for a real choppy cam that's gonna lay down lots of performance to the Rea wheels
