Default Hooker Blackheart exhaust?

Hey all,

Was looking at a dual exhaust setup for the future, and stumbled across this on TSP's website: http://texas-speed.com/p-4846-hooker...s1-f-body.aspx

Has anyone seen/heard of this before? Any experience with it?

I know it's only 2.5" piping, but I can't imagine spending nearly 3x as much on a kooks system that only gives me another half inch.

Why not? A lot of people run a single exhaust that's only 3.5-4"

Dual 2.5" = 5" total.

Most people are fine with a 3" single exhaust. It's more than enough for a street car.

Plus it sounds great and has loads of clearance.

2.5" true dual isn't going to present any significant restriction for the vast majority of street LS1 cars, vs. the same system in 3". Now if you have ~400ci+, rev to 7200rpm+, and/or a ton of boost, then perhaps the extra cost of 3" would be worth it.

For a bolt-on car or even a mild heads/cam setup, I wouldn't worry about it unless you have cash to burn or plan on much bigger things in the future.
