Default Cost of machining?

looking into doing a 383 lm7. anyone have an idea what the cost of boring and balancing the block would be?

and at 383ci, will i find any restriction with an ls6 intake with 243 heads?

243's would work fine, though I would send them out for some porting.

interesting. that thread makes it seem like the cost of machining is pretty high. i just called a shop near me and got quoted 300 for the bore and hone, and 290 for the crank balancing.

i'm a newbie at engine building so i suppose it's possible, but did i miss something?
