Oil consumption

Oil consumption My car doesnt leak ,I doesnt smoke when i get on it. but it uses abouy 1/2 a qt every couple months. I have 60k miles on it. I run it hard every once in a while , but mostly lady driven. Where is the oil going?

Its fairly normal with LS1's. More than likely its not due to leaky valve seals, fried rings, ect. LS1's have a somewhat faulty PCV system. Its subject to blow by which then dumps the oil into your intake manifold and eventually consumed by the motor. They are more prone to consumption at higher RPM's, manuals seem to consume a bit more due to that. I've consumed up to 1qt between changes, however I race mine weekly. Normally I put in 1/2 qt between changes.
