Default manual rear end

Will the rear end from an m6 with 3.42 fit an A4 car?

yeah. No difference in M6 to A4. The only difference would be if one was TCS and the other not. TCS has different wiring.

I have a rear end with traction control but my car doesnt have traction control. So does that mean i MUST take the gears and stuff out and swap them to my rear end. I dont have a posi in my rear end is why i need to change. Can i buy the stuff to make it have traction control?

"I dont have a posi in my rear end is why i need to change."

Who told you that? ALL LS1 F-bodys come with posi-traction. There are two types but they are both posi-traction and both work well. One uses clutches (Auburn) and the other (Torsen) uses gears. The main fuctional difference is that the Torsen doesn't have clutches to wear out.

I have now 3.42s from a M6 Car. This car also had traction control but he said he took the spocket off for his new ford 9 inch. The rear end i have now isnt the one that came factory. It was replaced and marked wrong or something so i actually got a v6 rear end. Sucks! The guy i bought it from just lied and said that some came that way.

Yea the guy i bought the rear end from told me that auburn posi's suck. Should I have actually just bought a posi and gears off ebay and put them in my rear. I found gears for like $80 and the posi for like $40. I paid $220 for the rear but i suppose i could get some of that back out right?

These are what I was looking at. Is this what it would take to fix my one wheel wonder problems? Except I will need gears.

It means when your on a flat surface going straight both wheels lock and spin. If you turn it lets go and only one wheel spins.

Yea. Posi traction will cause you to fish tell. You could have beat him if you didnt get on it so hard. My car will spin when its raining at 60mph. I dont fishtail tho b/c only one tire is pulling.

i don't get it dough if it locks both wheels together to spin how could it fish tail then that means that the wheels are spinning at different rates, doesn't the posy locks them together???

I believe that your get more torque to the tire that has the most traction. Not sure but i think this is how it works.

Once again, ALL LS1 F-BODYS HAVE POSI-TRACTION! It was NOT an option.

You either have the Torsen or the Auburn but they are BOTH limited slip (aka positive traction.)
