Default 01 Maf and no Screen?

Just now thinking of posting this, but I've had my T/A since March, but there is no screen on the MAF. The car (as far as I can tell) has never been modified. Could this just be a factory fluke or did the 01s not have the screen?

I say it hasn't been modified because it came with what appeared to be the stock paper filter, the TB hasn't been touched, nore the maf housing (porting wise) stock wires/plugs, none of the exhaust has been messed with etc.

Just wondering

Thanks.

It was bought used. I just didn't think anyone did anything to it considering nothing else had been touched. The baffles had never been off the housing either.

All years F-body, all models are the same MAF
and are screened. Some, not for long....

I thought some were 3 wire and some 5?

Either way thanks for the info.

I'm guessing I'm not hurting anything...

"I thought some were 3 wire and some 5?"

Not on F-bodys. You're thinking of late model 'Vettes and trucks.

Guess my truck years corrupted my thoughts.....

Thanks for the clarification.

fyi no other free mods had been done. Seems odd that someone would just take the screen out...
