Ls noob Here Alright dudes/girls new to this forum and ls engine, little background never really built an engine before only like small dirtbike engines i just picked this 02 4.8 up for $50 bucks, previous owner said it was locked i took a chance on it, he also included some parts like nasty 862 heads, valley cover and stuff no intake, or coils. I got it all apart now after a couple hours it has rust on the cylinders and pitting i need some info on overboring and the whole "iron ls1" deal what am i looking at $ wise. Im trying to keep it on the cheap thanks. Btw i searched up some stuff but need definite prices.

out of curiosity what do you want to get out of this?
the reason i ask is if you just wanted an ls engine your better off buying a complete running one. ive seen 4.8-5.3 locally sell for $350-500
once you start buying parts for that thing and getting the machine work done youll be above that.
