Ok well budget wise this is a save up and get it as i go. But i plan to put this ls1 in my 280zx. Ill put it in now and just swap parts as i go. But mostly topend stuff. Heads, cam, intake, headers ect.

as far as a certain sound you want thats personal preference.
loud is one thing. you can run straight pipes with TDs and im sure itll be deep and loud as ****.
i run KOOKS with my OE SLP DD with a H/C setup and it works for me.
you might want to listen to different setups to decide whats best for you.

But if i can make it thump harder by doing something to them then i would like to know.
You can have the most badass heads in the world sound quieter than stock and you can have the stock heads sound like pure hell all with the change of the exhaust.
But I agree, a cutout is what you want at least for the sound.
