Default Ram air

Is my 00 Camaro safe to drive during the rain with the ram air modification ? **** cut of plastic from above radiator*****

I have a read a few articles from other members asking the same thing...... with el nino in hitting the bay area I'm just making sure it won't seize my engine because I'm driving it.

Are you talking about a SSRA type ram air?

I think he means the free ram air mod.

Obviously try to avoid giant deep puddles, but otherwise you should be fine.

I live in Florida and so far my car has been just fine. The only thing the rain has damaged is the front left turn/blinker light. Was a 5 minute fix... happened cause I hit water deeper than I thought it was.

If you get that metal scoop that goes down to the bottom, I would use the closing gate when it's raining, although I've never actually heard of an incident were rain got up to the filter, much less motor.

With just the free mod you should be fine, I drive in rain 70% of the time I've owned it it feels like. (NOT REAL FUN WHEN YOUR DAILY DRIVER IS LS1-RWD lol.)

I really don't think you'd have anything to worry about. Even with the SSRA kit your engine still has the slot in the front of the factory airbox to pull air through, so even if the ssra was fully submerged it would start pulling air from the slot.
