EGR delete and pass emissions??

EGR delete and pass emissions??
So, i have to pass emissions and was wondering if i do the egr delete and have my car tuned if itll still pass emissions?! i talked to a local tuner and they said they can make the CEL turn off but they cannot promise itll pass. any words of advice?

IL is OBD scan-only testing for '96+ vehicles. You can definitely pass with a proper custom tune and deleted EGR. It all depends on how they disable the system, if they change the code to type X (off/no MIL) but allow the DTC test to still run (on), then you'll attain proper readiness status but without a MIL (hence you pass the test.)

Tune and hope they aren't too picky. The test system will typically show "Not Supported" when checking for EGR, if you get it tuned out. If they know to look for it though, they may catch it on visual inspection.

In my experience, it won't show "not supported" after a custom tune. It will still show "ready", but it won't trip a MIL (code set to Type X.)
