Default Can DEXCOOL be pink?

So I opened my rad cap today and the liquid inside was an orangeish color so I assumed it must've been GM approved DEXCOOL. I wanted to be even more sure so I took a sample of the supposed DEXCOOL from my radiator. When I took the sample out it looked sorta pink Are my eyes deceiving me? This looks pretty pink to you guys right?? Is this pink stuff still DEXCOOL or is it something else?

I'm only guessing here, but maybe if it was diluted enough with water it could have a pinkish look.

Well I did add a very small amount of distilled water to the radiator a couple days ago... didn't think it would be enough to dilute the color that much

That's the same color as my diluted Prestone DexCool. It's essentially that same color as it comes out of the jug undiluted.

So I shouldn't worry about it?

No, I wouldn't worry as there is no other signs of sludge, discoloration, sediment, oil, etc. Looks new.

I used Water Wetter in a 96 Trans Am that looked exactly like that. Bright pink right from the bottle. I completely replaced the coolant with distilled water and Water Wetter.

http://www.gmfleet.com/content/dam/g...tipcoolant.pdf

I found this document online and it said that the dexcool could turn pink due to "inconsisting in the mixing of dyes".
