I have a complete 04 5.3 that needs a head gasket and I have a 08 5.3 short block would it be worth it to take the rotating assembly out of the gen IV and put it in the Gen III? My goals are to finish the swap in my C/10 drive it till spring then start the turbo build, really don't have a HP goal yet, I was just going to see how it did and go from there

Have you checked the 04 to make sure it doesn't already have the good rods? They started phasing them in sometime in 04.

Didn't even think about that, honestly forgot about them starting in 04, I'll double check
