weiand alum intake hey guys does anyone here ever use that weiand aluminum intake, or has had any expirence with it. Is it a good intake is the ls6 intake better as far as flow is concern or the lsx. give me your thoughts guys.

They heat-soak a lot worse than the plastic ones.
The idea was, supposedly you could port or extrude-
hone the aluminum one. Lots of griping about leaks /
fitment on early aluminum intakes. They seem to
never have developed much of a "fan base". With the
LSX also being port-able and even bigger, and big
sheet metal designs being out there, I think the cast
aluminum ones are kinda "who cares?" aside from the
appearance factor.

i think high performance chevy magazine did a test on a bunch of different ls1 intakes in a couple of the issues. i may be wrong about the magazine, but i think the weiand was in it. i dont remember it being very high on the list as that was all i looked at.
