Default Steering wheel shake???

Hey guys, just got back from a trip to upstate New York. The car felt fine both ways coming down, except that from 80 mph-above the steering wheel would shake a little bit. The car was also slightly drifting to the left. Below 80, she feels fine. Came home, checked the air pressure on all four tires and they're fine. The alignment has just been done (as well as the front rotors). Any ideas? Would the need for a tire rotation cause this?

Thanks in advance!

I would start with the brakes first and see if that cures the pull as well. Let me guess...you went to a shop and they turned the rotors instead of replacing them? Never, never, never let a shop convince you to turn the rotors. All that happens to turned warped rotors is they warp again. The front rotors on these cars suck. So now that I am done ranting....did they turn them? I am sure you are referring to the fronts.

Now you could possibly have an out of balance wheel, or a weight fell off, or even a bad idler arm. But like I said about the rotors...

Another_User: lol, bad experience with a shop I guess huh? Nah the front rotors and pads are brand new, just Brembo OEM style rotors, so I don't think it's them. Any chance my axle could be bent?

Ok guys, here goes the OCD kicking in again

Took the car out again today for a cruise down the highway. I was cruising at 80, 90, and 100 mph. The shake would be there sometimes, and disappear at other times. Also, I THINK I can feel a slight vibration thru the car, but like the steering wheel, sometimes it would be there, and sometimes it wouldn't.

Would a bent wheel bearing or bad axle cause this? Or could it be what we talked about before, something simple like balancing the tires? Or am I just going plain nuts??

I think I need a ...

Sounds about right, since the rotors are actually new. I would start just by having both fronts re-balanced (or all four if you don't mind spending the dough).

balance all four, then if the problem persists, rotate front to rear. if this solves the problem, then it's a bad tire.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Hopefully the balancing works and/or rotation works, I'll keep you posted.

meSSman: I was mainly on the NY Thruway, then was driving around New Paltz. I noticed it on the Thruway tho. Where did you visit?
