First off I would not go with the power programmer, use the money towards a set of long tubes. I say with the lt's, magnaflow, lid,tb your looking at a gain of 30-40 maybe more. Plus you will still have a little leftover to put towards a cam.

I have an 01 Z28 which was stock, then I added a magnaflow exhaust, lid, and holley powershot filter. I gained 34.2 RWHP and 18.3 ft/lbs.

that should give you an idea.

Say no to the Flowjunk. Its good for 3 hp. The Magnaflow is good for 15 to 20 rwhp and tq. My car went from 13.3 at 109 to 13.0 at 111 with the addition of a Magnaflow catback. I was already running a lid at the time.

$1,500 max??

Longtube headers, off road Y-pipe, and a cat-back. Install them yourself it's not that bad. Or you could do headers and true duals dumped at axle (my choice ) If you have to pass emissions check how they do it because if they do OBDII plug ins you will be fine with O2 sims or a simple LS1 edit for the codes. Definately get that lid, best bang for the buck you can find. You should be able to do all of that for $1,500 or less and may (should) have some left over so you aren't maxing out your budget........or you could just spend the rest on something like cold air induction, tires, or subframe connectors.

Edit: What transmission do you have??? If A4 you might be able to manage a converter/shift kit/cooler with installation and a lid. Would have to have drag radials to make it usefull though

Get the Lid and LS1 Edit. I lost 10 rwhp with the Magnaflow. You did not say if your car was an A4 or M6. if it is an auto get a converter.

How did you lose power with the Magnaflow? I gained 19rwhp with a Magnaflow catback on an other wise bone-stock '98 A4.

I just know the Dyno does not lie. It sucks. I get **** every time I tell someone this, but it is the truth. Magnaflow sucks, you get what you pay for.

If you have an a4 car, get yourself a converter, set of nittos, LM and an airlid, and have it tuned. If it's an M6, get an airlid and a set of longtubes and a catback, or go for the catback and a set of 4,10's. Either way, thing about doing some suspension/chassis mods soon too, tie up the frame ( my project over the winter )

Max HP? You could probably spray and get a lot of power that way, but that's not the smartest with being stock and all

Unusual numbers. Did you happen to monitor your Air-Fuel while making these dyno passes? Were the dyno passes completed on the same dyno under the same conditions. The reason I post this is that I see you are running a custom tune on your vehicle and more likely than not your probably running leaner than stock. When I tune these sytems we do carefully monitor a-f to maximize power on a stock tune. Should you change the tuning perameters you run the risk of not making the stated power due to too rich or too lean conditions.

Our numbers test very consistant ... in house or thrid party if testing is done correctly ... here's a test conducted for one of our Mustang systems: http://www.mach1review.com/ Its not an F-body but its representative of our products.

Just for Future information, I have revisted the current F-body system to create a new internal design muffler to further compliment flow and enhance the sound character. Power numbers are showing a minor gain but tone is much more refined.

Dynos dont like but like any tool can be misinterpreted or incorectly used. There really are no absolutes in typical end-user testing unless you really try to control all possible variables.
