I remember reading a post that said 2.5" true duals were good from 450-500HP

Also the sweet thunder mufflers are nice, but you should definitely look into the Borla XR-1's.. I have a clip in my sig..

These mufflers just so happen to be for sale..

That won't be restrictive. Once you go with a blower, heads/cam setup, then you might want to think of going to 3"

tru duals on a stock motor seems like over-kill to me. true duals dont even create any restriction...what is restricting them? theres no cats...and there isnt one single pipe the pushing all of the exhaust out. IMO i would run LT's, catted Y, and LM cat back for a bolt on motor. i opt for catted Y's bcuz i hate the sound of an ORP. there needs to be some kind of exhaust pressure, especially on a stock motor.

True duals for a mostly stock engine are fine. You don't need to have exhaust backpressure....its mostly a myth. The quicker you can get the air out of there, the better. I wouldn't put LM on a LT car....period. I'd go with hooker if you're lookin for a good decently priced exhaust. That or just throw on TSP's new true dual setup. Works great. And 2.5 in works just for for quite a bit more HP, more than just 500. There are guys around here runnin around with 550 with a catback and catted y. Of course any 3in true dual dump will flow better for that much horsepower....but you're not losin any w/o one.

i am thinking cutouts to run open headers,
or 3" duals
because i want to run a g5x3
and maybe heads later but before heads a 150 shot

from what i remember,
this one guy with an x1 made over 400 NA and 600 with a 150..
what to do..

I was reading 'Hot Rod' magazine and they had a LS1 rated at 320 HP put on a dyno with LT and 3" and no belts with a water pump swap and it got 405+ HP just by having no restriction.

Kinda makes me wish I did not have to have Cats.
