I'm about to order this and was wondering what opinions are on removing the baffles when doing the BGRA. Is it worth it. Just wanting to know if I should order the nostril corner pieces also. Thanks.

i went to lowes. bought this foam that was sticky on one side. its about 1inch thick and when the hood closes the foam molds around the opening on the lid. so for about 8$ i have BG ram air and it forms to the air box to create a perfect seal. i call it "i aint spendn the money on BG ram air."

I agree that it's overpriced, but I've heard that the quality is top notch and I'm not worried about the cost. People told me the same thing about my gmmg and I wouldn't give that up for anything

And I spent over $400 on a painted lid and FRC's, no way I'm going to stick a $8 chunk of foam in there, I want it to look good also and I've heard this has OEM quality, that's what I'm going for.

BGRA is on my list of things to do, it gives the air a very strait shot to the air lid opening, better than stock with no baffles. I also know someone that put it in their car and did actually pick up a consistant tenth and .5 mph in the quarter after installing. He went to LVD on a wednesday night, car had a mecham exhaust and whisper lid/K/N, and was running 13.60 to 13.80 @ 102 to 104, and went back that saturday, weather was almost exactly the same, and ran 13.40 to 13.60, and mph was on average .5 better. Granted, his 60 ft times got about a tenth better due to more consistant launches, and being at the track again 3 days later, (6 speed car) but the average was better. I rode with him to the track both days, and after the BGRA was installed, the car felt more responsive and seemed to have little more punch at highway speeds. For a WS-6 car, I'd say that it is about the best option as far as added air intake goes, better than the FTRA SSRA, and other options out there, not to mention it doesn;t add a couple pounds to the nose, unlke all the others. Looks cool too, like the car should have from the factory.

The $8 piece of foam is a joke IMO. The BGRA has these funnel pieces that install in the hood that funnel the air straight into the airbox assembly. This eliminates turbulence caused by air bouncing around in the hood after removing the baffles. You might not know what I am talking about until you actually remove the baffles and install the BGRA. Very excellent quality and $$$ well spent. It was as if Pontiac knew someone would make this ram air setup. Plus it makes your hood functional, instead of cosmetic. Great buy and no regrets here. any possibility of getting water in the engine with light or heavy rain? i've heard different stories about that...i just don't see how water can go up throught the filter

They sell a rain block off plate for the kit, slap it in and you are good to go.

I've driven in HEAVY rain with no rainblocker and i have had no problems. It's a bit overpriced and a bitch to install but i like it a lot. IMHO if you have a Ws6 then you should get the BGRA.
