Default noise

their seems to be some kinda weird noise. i think its coming from the rear end. it sounds like somethings rubbing or kinda squiky sound. it only seams to do it at low speeds and mostly when turning. like turning into a parking spot its really noticeable. got any ideas????

If your rear end has been serviced recently, they may have forgot the limited slip additive and the clutches are chattering in the differential.

I have noticed an intemittent squeel from my rear end also. I am concerned that it may be one of the bearings at the axle ends. Mine sounds more like a shaking/rattling squeel but it doesnt always do it (kinda like a worn bearing). Is that what you are getting?

I dont hear it with the windows closed (road/wind noise block it out, at least to my ears). I barely hear it with the windows open. Its really noticeable though when I pass another car around town and the sound is reflected back at me. It doesnt always happen either.

I guess that would rule out bearings. Maybe it is the posi, like TA TED suggested.

Check the fluid level in the rearend. Or just drain it and replace the fluid and add the posi diff lube. My SS does the same thing...same as yours, only when turning slow (like in a parking lot). The good news is its not expensive to fix. Its somewhat common on these cars.

Ohh yeah...look for a leaking seal on the axle. You'll find little whiffs of grease/ oil on the wheels or on wheelwells on the body. That causes fluid level to drop and the noise to get louder.
