Depends on the model, transmission, and weight of the particular car. Also depends on your track/traction and the weather conditions
Lighter cars are the Z28/SS and Formula. Trans Ams and convertibles are heavier (Trans Am +80, convertibles +180).
Figure mid 13s for an average LS1 with an average driver. In excellent weather low 13s no problem. On a crappy track, high 13s or even low 14s if there isn't any traction.
Overall, I'd say 13.4 range is about average for a stock 98 LS1.

I have a lid and catback on a 2000 M6 Z28 and spun like hell to a 14.006 @ 105.68 on a pretty hot night. That was very first night at the track - 60k miles. FYI, 60 foots balewww 2.28s

I ran mid 13's stock in a Trans Am A4 w/3.23 gears. The local track wasn't prepping very well last year. Most every late model LS1 F-body that was stock was running mid to high 13's there last year.

-all m6 cars are 3.42
-autos are either 2.73 or 3.23, there is a code on the door that refers to the gears. But unfortunatly I dont know what they are. 3.23 was an option for the auto's, but most of them came with 2.73
