Default New injectors w/ headers?

Like it says... a local shop suggested that i replace my stock 28 lb'ers for svo 30 lb for about $220. He said that I should this at the same time i put on my hookers and y pipe, which after i was going to have him tune. This was rick at synergy motorsports here in nor cal. Any thoughts on this. I kinda thought that it was a little unusal, but I am a noob. I said though, why should I replace my LARGER injectors? He said that they dont make that big a difference, but then suggests 30 lb which is the same difference. any opinions?

i am not replacing them, but the owner of the shop i talked to suggested it and I am questioning that. I did SOME research and i have 28 lb'ers stock. I didnt think that I needed to go up to a 30, but he said i should, which is why I am asking for input. JRP seems to have a lot of knowledge on these cars so I figured maybe he could enlighten me.

while its true you dont need them for just a header install you could look at it as a long term setup. when you start adding h/c, n2o, ect you start running your injectors thin, meaning a 90-100% duty cycle. while with the svo's you can run an 70-80% duty cycle. just something to thing about

Well he wants like $220 for the injectors and the install. Is it worth it? H/C is likely a good year away. School starts in sept. so after this only little stuff will be done to the car, i.e. stickers.

I'd wait until I had the h/c installed. I believe my stock injectors were 26lb & on the stock motor was doing 12.402@111.96 @ 3700lb's. I would save the cash for now & wait for the cam upgrade.

I had my cam, headers, 1s6 intake & ported stock heads done all at one time & only put down 405 at the rear wheels as the stock injectors couldn't deliver enough fuel. I had 30lb svo injectors installed & boom-426 RWHP-396 RWTQ. Also trapping 120 mph @3700lbs. Long story short, your fine until the cam is upgraded. I went with a 228/228-.571/.571 on a 112 custom grind cam.-Fred
