well after looking at your other thread and seeing you have an a4, your goal is easy. stall, some key bolt ons, and good tires and your there.

A guy in town has a 2000 T/A that runs 12.4s NA and 11.7s on the juice. he has the normal bolt ons: lid, filter, bellow, headers, cat-back, stall, ls6 intake, and a cam. and theres always that 175 shot if needed.

Theres a woman by the name of Linda I believe(I think she posts on here) in Houston that ran 11.5's with nothing more than boltons(torque convertor,etc.).

im hittin high 12's with my mods...basically a lid/catback and stock tires...

my goal is losw 11's on all motor...after some time however...i will be converting from A4-M6...but not for some time so when i have the M6 i am hoping to look at 11's all motor...unless i do a stroker then 10's all motor....im looking into that 455 Stroker with a T56 and a 4.11 12 bolt...new Sway bars LCAs Torque Arm SFC's STB and Adj. PHR with TTII's some BFG's or 15's with Mickey T's...and well....ill get my best time with all boltons then ill just...well...drop it and do rextreme road racing
hahaahahahaah the car will alwasy be different till the day i die...well atleast till im 40 itll keep changing haha thats a long ways away beieve me

full exhaust, lid, LS6 or LSx intake manifold....ported TB with the works...rear end suspension (i.e. LCA's, Adj. PHR, Torque Arm) and some tires on an M6...will prolly see low 12's with an A4...getta 2800-3500 if your looking 100% streetable...and well thatlle get you low 12's easy if your lucky somtehint liek 11.7's or so....good luck

Exactly.

A lid,cut-out,converter and good tires put me deep into the twelves. The N20 moved me down another second.

Check my sig. It has more in it than that though, just a few tweaks to make and then wait for cool fall air.

All i had to buy is stall, ET streets, lid, CAI, headers, and duals and I am an untuned (running RICH) '98.

Hmmm...what car on here ISNT running 12s is my questions. Seems like every other person is a 12 or faster. Except me ...but thats because I have crappy altitude and horrible track to race at...damn the luck. Hopefully I can make a trip to Bandimere...Still shitty altitude...but the track is much nicer than PMI.

There are several ways to go about your project. Me and several buddies have tried almost every bolt-on there is for both LT1' and LS1's. Below are a few options to get you there, the only question is what are you willing to sacrafice to get you there: money??? gas milage??? wear and tear on the car??? I will list my reccommendations with what seemed to be the disadvantage of our projects and what advantages we gained.

1) Remove cats (illegal!!!) and use a good high flow muffler (one you like the sound of (www.ls1sounds.com), cold air induction kit (reccommend SLP Package or MAKE your own), and a pair of drag radials. This package got my buddy 12.4 on drags and 12.8 on regualar tires in a 99 ws6 A4-downfall is car is really loud during normal driving and illegal-if you do most of the work yourself and buy slp package, your lookin @ about $650-800 depending on what brands you go with (they all work just as good). P.S. after all these mods, the car only liked 93 octane gas, 87 it would pop and sputter and clank like nobody's business.

2) This in my opinion is the best but cost the most -- get a good catback exhaust (SLP, GMMG, or BORLA), SLP's PCM3-reprograms your car drastically (about $500), cold air and lid (any brand works), smoothe bellows (between MAF and TB), control arms to help with launch and shifts, for consistancy-160* thermo. This package got a friend with a 98 t/a A4 runnin 245' stockers 12.2 @ 109--I am sure with the ws6, wider tires and the better susp already, you could get 12ohs, add drag radials and you are well into 11's. Unfortuantely, this system will cost minimum of $1200, he bought all slp stuff and paid like $1900, upside-we went on a trip to the beach, and he got 30 mpg runnin 90 with ac goin. This is my recommendation, but it's $$$

3) Spend $600 and get some nos, run 12's all day long, then after about a dozen or so runs, you can start saving to rebuild that smokin motor.

Just my reccommendations, they work, I've personally done em all, and they work, but one lesson I have learned is if you want to go faster, you have to be prepared to sacrafice something.

I'm sorry, but a cat-back, Fernco/baker hose, lid, CAI, and LCA's can NOT be counted on to get a 12.4 timeslip. You would have to have one HELL of a seriously quick car while stock to pull that off once modded, if you even could, on STOCK tires. I would like to see proof of this '98 A4 with said mods that runs 12.4. What amounts to lid, CAI, cat-back, ??some computer tuning??, and LCA's (on a 98 no less) will be lucky to get you 12 anything. Do you know times for this firebird while stock?

I venture to call on that setup plus drag radials running 11's.

Also, if you install nitrous on a stock engine you are not going to have to start saving money to rebuild your motor unless you F*ck something up, omit use of one of the safety devices, etc.

Edit: Definately some IMO. Either that or you just found a way to take a 98 F-body into the 11's N/A for less than $2k

Not like that is too hard to agree with. If we could turn 11's for $1,900 without using nitrous...................well you can think of your own ending because it just isn't going to happen.

I started at 13.95 and got to 12.80 with everything in sig. but cam,ls6 intake
and a goodtune.I'm now at 343/32x hp/torque with everything in sig.which is a 40 plus increase in h.p. before I ran 12.80. If I continue to get 1.80 60 ft times(street tires Michelins) I am very positive I can get a very low 12 and based on hp maybe a hi 11 with very good weather. And thats with a 2.73 gear but a slightly lighter car by comparison.BTW I would like to think that your stock base times are quicker than mine which makes getting there easier and cheaper
