Default Borla adjustable plate question

I just got borla installed on my car yesterday and I think the previous owner was running the 2 inch plate. Well I want to run it wide open but I can't get the bolts off to save my life, I think he over-torqued them. Anyone have any ideas on what I can do to get them off or do I have to settle for the 2 inch plate being in there forever because of the dumbass that had it before me?

Bottom one should come out easier. Try putting a jackstand under the tip to support the whole thing then work on the top two bolts. Use penetrating oil (and elbow grease)of course.

start with the nuts first. Then after they are loose you still have to unscrew the bolts; these are screwed on to the flange. Try some WD-40 or silmilar.

If all else fails just take it to your local exhaust shop. They should be able to take care of it pretty easily.

I would hit the wrench with a hammer on the nut side to "jolt" it loose. Works on almost anything.

My borla system has no "nuts" just bolts that go all the way thru the flange...what are you talking about.

PS. When I remove mine..I usually have to heat them with a gas torch..its makes its much easier..also use a long wrench for added leverage.

when i removed mine from the 93, one of the bolts was crossthreaded when put in with air tools and I had to use a breaker bar to get the bizatch out. It came out broken, but out it came! Breaker bar that stuff!

Mine came with 3 bolts with nuts, washers and lock washers. Yep, tapping with a hammer breaks it loose while tugging on it breaks the bolt. Why not spray it with oil, torch it and tap it with a hammer!

Spray some WD-40 on there and let it sit and then just use some elbow greese
