Default "Friend prices"

If you were a car noob, and could not on your own install a set of hooker headers, how much would you feel comfortable paying your capable friend to do it? A shops going rate is about $300-$400, so that is for a professional to do the job. Any thoughts pleez..

Well... When a friend asks me to do it (he isnt going to help) I charge for a header install about 50 to 100 bucks depending how well of a friend he is. If they plan on HELPING (actually doing most of the work but need a guide or 50-50) Then Ill say bring a case of beer/ill bring the pizza and "let(s)" (meaning PLURAL!!!) do it.

So how much work u going to do yourself? if none... Id say no less than 50 and no more than 100. So that is my opinion... Goodluck!

He wants none of my help, I would prefer to help actually, and he is going to do it all. The guy is a friend of a friend. He wants 250 for the total install. He has a site www.spdfrkls1.com i think. He is a local guy who apparently knows his ****. But i have never met him in person so I am kinda hesitant/ Just wanted some thoughts. Oh the friend said that the guy might be willing to do it for about 100 or so thats why i was initially interested.

find someone who will let you help as well, part of the car experience is learning to work on your own ****. the more confidence you gain turning a wrentch the more apt you are to try and tackle other projects as well.

Shop rates around here run $45 to over $100.
But that's also paying the rent and the tool
collection. Friends might rather trade effort
than cash.

"Shop rates $40 an hour; $60 if you watch;
$80 if you help"

Friends don't make friends that help pay, PERIOD! If he doesn't help at all, I'd say half would be fair!
