need some help to win...
sup everyone... just purchased a '99 z28 m6 a month ago and i'm about to take it to the Bay Area runs (ricer heaven) for the first time and need to know the proper rpm to hold for launching and key shift points to win in these drags... lots of my friends and local folks (all imports) think they could whoop my *** now that i switched over to domestics, help me out ya'll and lets steam rice these imports.

What RPM you can leave/lauch at depends on what tire your gonna run.
I would practice with your set-up & see what it will tolerate. Try 1800 & step up fom there. If you launch & it boggs give it more RPM next time. To much & you'll blow the tires off.If your stock I usually shift at 6K, a shift light helps a ton here.
The key here IMO is practice, practice, practice & get the feel for the car down.
