Lowering car causes this?

Lowering car causes this?
I lowered my car with the eibach prokit springs. When I hit a bump my passenger side rear tire always feels like it is slamming up into my wheel well-while the left side keeps contact with the road. It hits hard enough to cause my expensive cd player to skip and it jolts the whole car. Does anyone else experience this with their lowered or even non lowered car?

nope its not your springs.
i would say you have bad shocks. if you have adjustable shocks then your "bound" setting is way to low on that side.
if you have stockers replace them.
if you have new ones then return them for replacments.
springs have more to do with ride hieght and weight transfer, shocks absorb the impact from road imperfections

Well, not to contradict Jaberwaki, but I had the same problem with my 17x11's on my eibach prokit with brand new stock shocks. Just had to cut and roll the fenders in toward the car. Now I have no such problem. Still gotta go slow over overpasses while on the highway and bumps, though.

hmmmm.
although i would still check the shocks(as he said the trouble was on one side only)
you add an interresting point. if you have 17x11's it might be too much tire to sqeeze in your wheel well. at stock ride hight you would really have to hit something hard for 11inch wide tires to find your wheel well. but if you dropped it 2" then its very possable that it could rub on a good bump...

but if you are 8-9 inch tires i would stick to shocks.

Are you sure its the tire thats hitting? I lowered a mustang once and the correct bump stop wasnt put on and when the car hits a good bump it will jolt it pretty good. Usually you have to get a different bump stop for the rear end. Just my .02 cents.

I have shocks with less than 4k miles on them and I swapped them to see if one of them was bad but it still was slammin up in there on the right side.
WHat is a bump stop? Is it the yellow foam lookin thing that is right by the edge of the tire? I noticed that the bump stop on the left rests much closer to the tire than the one on the right? If this is the bump stop should it be almost touching my tire?

The bump stop keeps your axle from hitting the car when your suspension compresses beyond safe working order. If you take your wheel off and look up into the wheel well you will see a block shaped piece of rubber. If you want to get rid of some of the banging when you hit bumps, you can shave the bump stop down or even replace it with a different one of possibly even different material. I wouldn't shave it down too much though because it's there for a reason and most LS1's have the "bump" problem once lowered.

Did u only change the springs? Cause I thought it was curious how you said it was the passanger side; If you dont put and adjustable panhard bar the car suspension sits slightly sideways (lower) towards the passanger side.

I do have an adj. panhard- But I thought it only moved the rear end left and right rather than adjusting the height? My right side is about a quarter to half an inch lower than the left side. I guess Ill have to try adjusting it?

Just a thought. Did you leave out the spring spacer doughnut on the top??? My left rear bangs once in awhile, but in my case I think its my exhust pipe hitting. I dont really care enough to even look tho.

When I lowered my car, my driver side wheel stuck out a/b 1/4 to a 1/2 in. more than the passenger side. And it still does...I have a non adjustable panhard rod and I just don't care enough to buy an adjustable panhard rod. It's not a big deal.

Well I'm just glad to know that theres nothing wrong with my car. I just wanted to be assured that others were experiencing something of this degree and that this is semi-normal as a result of lowering.
