Default Looking to buy LS1 WS6, need tips

I am currently looking to purchase a 99-02 T/A WS6. I am currently leaning towards an '01. I have learned that they are better than th 99-00. 2002 are too expensive. Any tips for looking? I am trying to get an M6 for sure.

Also, it looks like the first mods should be lid and complete exhaust. How does that sound?

Thx for any info. I may consider a 01 Camaro SS as well.

I would definetly go with an '01-'02 T/A, they are the best years and theres just something about the front end of a WS6 that inspires fear in someone. Lid, exhaust, tires. First mods are an endless debate of what to do but thats my opinion.

Get a car with no mods and don't spend more than $15,000.

I agree about getting a car with few or no mods done to it. But, if you find something that's more than 15k and it's what you want and it's a great car then go for it. I bought my 01' stripper Z28 with an SLP LM and SLP lid on it for 17.3k. That is the very high end of the spectrum, but it only had 9800 "old man miles" on it, had always been garaged, and had only been driven 450 miles in the past 2 years. Just go with what feels right to you. Good luck.

I say buy whatever year (99-02) you can for the best deal. Once you start modifying it, they are all equal.

I have checked your sig and saved all info, thx.

Well, I have found a 99 Firehawk for a great deal. I much prefer the mean look of the WS6 snorkels though. I am not sure what to do. I know a firehawk will hold it's value a little more, but I could prolly get a WS6 cheaper. Decisions, decisions.
