Default Hot Rod TV I watched this Morning, shoulda seen it

Well this was Hillarious...it was talking about how the New Diesel trucks really moved..and they chipped a new Ford F-350 Powerstroke or 250..not really sure..and they lined it up against a 99+ Mustang GT...it had the 4.6L..in it..an domg was it funny...the whole show led up to can a Chipped 250-350 Powerstroke take a 99+GT...and they raced a the very end..and the 250-350 Powerstroke one...the mustang and the powestroke...both ran 0-60 in 6.8..dunno who was driving that mustang ...must of been someone hired to drive slow...cuz i thought the new mustangs ran atleast 5.8's..i mean..if it isn't low enough that you bought a mustang and are driving one...but now...you gotta flip on the TV and watch your car get beat by a Stock Truck..only chipped..........

mabe im the only one who found this humorous but i thought it was damn funny waking up this morning to watch a 99+ GT get its *** handed to it by a Powerstroke...damn just think what the Duramax woulda dun to the poor guy....

I'll to that...

You can make them diesels pretty damned quick man. An hpp3 on a duramax can add somthing like 100hp and buttloads of tourqe. Propane injection....cya. Diesels are quick if you have the money to mod them, it isnt cheap and neither is the truck.

it's because they are coming from the factory with bigger turbos. think the new 6.0 powerstroke is pushing 35 lbs. Programmers add more boost in better the mixture, guess it gives away reliabliity for power.

When i was stationed in FL, there was a guy that would come to the local 1/8 mile strip in a decked out F-350 4 door long bed duley.... full body cladding and all.... the thing had to weigh 8000 lbs! Well anyway, he was running 8.7-9.0 all night long. which i believe translates to a high 13 low 14 in the 1/4? yes i would say those things can get movin!! amazing what you can do with a turbo diesel and alot of $$

A few weeks ago a bright red F350 with raised suspension and exhaust and what not was willing to play. We took off from a dig on a 40mph street and ran up to 60. Up until 30 to 35 he stayed even. We laughed at the next light and like he said, "he is driving a tank". Meaning he probably was pushing/pulling over 6000 lbs and I only had 3500 lbs approx.

Definately was a quick "tank".

last time i went to the track there was a ford super duty running low 14's all night. it was raised on atleast 33's and it was a 4 door that he said weighed 7400#.... very impressive indeed. got him on film beating a GT. very nice. if it was digital i would host it. but yeh he raised me too and pulled a 1.88 60' ft against my 2.1 so he looked pretty good at first. i think i pulled a 13.2 against his 14.3 or something. anyway pretty quick.

I took my 98 SS when i first bought it recently and ran it at the track i first raced a Z06 and to my opinion did dang good he only ran a 12.8 and i got a 13.2 i later ran a duramax that i thought was a waste of time till that tree hit green and i got smoked !!!!!! if it was not so damn heavy he would have lifted those tires i think :O) anyways i ran a 13.4 that time and i know he got me by like 5 car lengths all i could do was laugh to myself. I found out later he had a chip or programmed plus propane injection he said just off the chip he saw 98hp and over 100tq and i have no clue how the propane kits work so add that too and it equals see you later

One of the fastest street cars I have seen (straightaway fast) was 80ish mustang with a 90ish powerstroke deisel engine that was modded with a twin turbo and exhaust and other goodies. This car had to be well in the high 10's low 11's. He blew the doors of a turbo lt1 vette and a race-setup GSX-R 750. The guy said he had something like 12K in the car-that was it. And I totally believe the guy on the money part. I don't know his complete setup, but that sounds like the way to go if you want a cheap rocket.

I had one smartass lookin guy who was laughing/smiling at me with about 3 passengers in a jacked up ford f350 diesel. I had 2 passengers. It was blowing black smoke, and I could hear the turbo over my duals.. he would do flybys, and eventually I let him have it.. He was about a car behind and he stomped it, and when he got to my bumper I did a 2nd gear downshift.. He was like 4 cars back from 50-110. The whole time he was flying by he was laughing.. I assume he thought he was gonna waste my car. Probably a low 13 sec truck, cuz he didn't do all that bad. It was fun, but I think some of those guys are getting a little too brave

that is true, but they could also rip the backend off of another truck (that is the southern testosterone sport of seeing whose truck is stronger, you just "hook 'em up", unlike our cars could not. Dont get me wrong I dont think i could drive a truck like that on a regular basis, but it would be nice to have around and to be able to trailer your 10 sec race car with your 13 sec crew cab 8000lb truck
