Im going for my first dyno tomorrow. Any guesses at what im going to dyno. The dyno will be at memphis so that will give you a relative idea of temp.

Is this suppose to go in the dyno section?

Anythink i need to know? Anything i can do to my car between pulls that doesnt take long to kinda tweek something?

I agree with glennhl. I think that you will see around 335 rwhp. Maybe a little higher. It is hard to say.

the one thing you could have done is open the cutout you should already have

come on folks its 25-30 bucks... its 7-15 rwhp... if you dont want to be loud only open it at the track....
the only fbodys that should not have them are true duel set ups and loumouth set ups.....
work with me here people

*edit* oops... maybe i need glasses... disreguard the last coment

i'm only leaving it there for anyone who should be reading it

borla open plates lose 4-6 hp to a cut out in a car with headers and ory p... not too bad at all but its still about 5 hp for 25-30 bucks....

loudmouth only dynos 1-2 hp down to a cut out... not worth it...

Jaber,
Hey, push those cutouts! I put a manual one on then replaced it 2 months later with a Pro Street electric. Felt a lot stronger, but wasn't sure if it was the sound making it "feel" faster. Well, did a Dyno pull 2 weeks ago:

Cutout Open: 381 rwhp
Cutout Closed: 354 rwhp

THAT'S 27 rwhp for $60 ($30 hdwr, $30 installation)

By the way, if someone wants my old manual one and they don't mind having to grind off the old welds they can have it for $15 plus shipping!

ok, dyno day is over. My numbers werent impressive at the least. I put down 300.8hp/308.4tq then 301.1/348.9 then 304.6/315.9 . On the way up there my car starting acting funny im quessing do to the wreck last week. it started acting like it was trying to die at idle but when you gave it gas it acted all right. My air/fule was 12.1,12.1,12.3. So i left and took it to autozone and im throwing a code p0102 which means my mass air flow input is lower than expected for the current engine operating conditions it says?

I will post my graph asap. compared to the other fbodys one stock had a a/f of 13 the ws6 with most same mods as me has a/f of 14 and all 3 of there lines were smooth were as mine jumped around everywhere.

On another note we had several fbodies there.

One 99 z28 M6 with lid and cutout put down 317hp
A ws6 m6 with same mods as me except he had true duels put down like 337/350.
One ss was putting crazy numbers but i wont ruin it for him i know he wants to tell about it and a z06 was there putting down like 365/349

lemme ask a question.
did you clean your k&n filter the night b4 or the day of the dyno?
well any time in the last 10 days really?

i've seen this 4-5 times... you put just a tad too much k&n oil on your filter. on most cars this has no effect because there intake system has an elbow and a silencer where most of the exccess is trapped.

i see you have the free mods done so i assume you desceened your maf?

well 2 things added up against you (if i am right)

first is that the ls1 intake is direct fed no bends and not alot of room to travel.
second the factory catch has been removed.

i would be wiling to bet that your excess k&n oil got sucked in(it wont hurt your motor)
and it got some on the MAF's wires and sencers. this gave the pcm bad air readings detuning yor ride and bringing your power down.

if this is whats wronge , get some isopropenol alcohol and very carefully clean your maf wires with it and soft q-tips. let it set for a few mins, clean it again just to be sure then after it is fully dry replace it and you should be right as rain

if this is not whats wronge there is a chance something has gone bad with your MAF and it has to be replaced(hope thats not it cause they run about 300)

but your MAF is where i would start your search.

Thanks for the help. I havent cleaned my filter since for about 2 months; at least in the terms of adding oil just shaking it off is all. When I had the wreck they said i went airborn and hit pretty hard i checked the wires and they are still there but do you think it may have damaged my maf anyway?

Can you interpret dyno graphs? If so please check out my graphs. They are all jumpy where as the other fbodies w/o tunes were smooth.

i would still clean it first,
but i would be willing to bet your trouble is there.

oh yeh and clean your filter once a month no reason not to

Ill go clean them now, I hope that what it is. I didnt expect those little wires to be strong enought to touch w/ a qtip but if u say so i trust u.

dont rub them hard. you have to use a very soft touch, the alcohal will do most of the work for you....

looked at your a/f graf it was running rich(alittle) there was a spike in ont of the runs that seemed off. there is probably 10 hp in your tune.

also make sure there is nothing impedeing your air flow(a leaf stuck on the filter ect ect ect.)
oh one last thing.
was this a mustang dyno or a dynojet?

Thanks for all the help,

Usually i get all kinds of help but today and yesterday seemed like no one was on here. i cleaned the maf and it still acts like it wants to die at idle. I no only dynoed low but also lost like .3 tenths off my time. Im not sure if u read it or not but i jerked my 02 ext. off when i wrecked so im thinkin it might be in that.

I was expect somwhere around 320-330? Is this too hight for an A4?

320-330 sounds perfectly reasonable.

if you only had an idle trouble i would say its your idle air controler. but with the loss in power i still think your gonna find a trouble with your MAF...

it was replaced correct?
if not then yes it could have something to do with it too.

i havent replaced it yet. It pulled the wires out but they kinda slid back in so i thought ok it will b alright but. then i checked the codes and it had something about insufficent air and i was like what?

Could the 02 cause that code?

What sucks is I live in MS so there is no performance shops. I have even called memphis and there nowhere that has atop or ls1edit. I suppose I will have to just buy it all myself.
