4.10's

4.10's
Before a rear end, after Hooker cat-back, Pacesetter Headers, Lid, K&N, SSRA, would it be worth any gains, or should I wait until I can buy a rear end? I know it's not horsepower gains, but how much does it change gear top speeds, and the overall top speed (which really doesn't matter since I never plan on seeing it ) Thanks in advance

umm you will be at around 2000rpms @70mph...it will make your rear-end weaker...but with your mods it doesn't look like you have an overwhelming need for a new rear-end...i doubt you will break it with those mods even ith the 4.10s..and the gains are quite a bit...i could be wrong but i would guess a few tenths in the quarter mile

I see, I heard that it improves gas mileage also, but I know really that depends on the driving I guess. About how much do they run and what brands? I ran a search for 4.10's and wierdly got a bunch of wierd random posts maybe because of 4.10's being in the sig. I think a rear-end for this car is pretty far off (at least a year)... so maybe I should get the gears OR maybe I should just go for other mods.

4.10s wont increase gas mileage...atleast thats what ive been told....i believe if anything itll make it worse?
top end can go to whatever you get it tuned to do....its all in the tune...however i think its better to have a 12 bolt or atleast the T/A girdle for your 10 bolt if your gonna go for a higher gear ratio...so far it seems like no othermods will show you much gain unless you through on a power adder (blower, turbo, spray?)...or mayb heads and cam.....they go pretty far with stock rears...and obviously some tires...i would say nitttos is the safest route...since M6's were known for breaking rears with harder hooking like BFG's or Mickey T's but the T/A girlde will help with that....my buddy BackInBlack has heads and cam with 4.10's in the stock 10 bolt with the T/A girdle....told me no problems jsut would prolly feel safer with a 12 bolt...
just my .02
