Default First Mods

I finally got the first mods and Installed them. It might be in my head, but I believe that I can fill the few extra horses. I put in a Granetelli MAF with their air lid and a K&N. I also switched all fluids over to Red line synthetic. Hopefully I'll be headed to the dyno soon and see what Im putting down.

I doubt it's in your head. Tho many people dis the G MAF, my car was .25 seconds faster in the 1/4 mile with it (13.3 vs 13.55). But as you continue to mod, you may end up with issues because of it. I fought lean / knock issues with it for a LONG time. My car was never right until I added headers. But it IS a good power mod, no doubt about it. Just listen for pinging at hi rpms when you dyno. If you have problems, you can put the stock electronics into their MAF ends & not lose very much power.

Good luck & have fun!

I would get rid of that flowmaster muffler. Does that redline stuff actually do anything? Good luck with your numbers!

Hell, I saw on HPTV a redline fluid demo. Ironically they did it on a completly bone stock 2000 Z28. From replacing every fluid with the redline products they dynoed a 13rwhp increase. ONLY FROM FLUID...thats a little insane.

Anyway, good going on your firs mods....now get rid of the crapmaster and get an exhaust

HP tv used Royal Purple on that Black Z28, not RedLine.

I want to go with headers and true duals. On the fluids, I was running castrol synthetic. With the redline, my oil pressure is about 10 psi higher. I also bought and installed the short shifter stick. Best mod for $32.
