Default New Lid and Old Filter installed correctly?

I recently bought my 1998 Sport Gold Metallic Trans Am used from the Chevy Dealer.. I just recently bought a carbon fiber airlid.. When i pulled the factory airbox off, i noticed it allready had a Kick in shiN filter (K&N). Well i went ahead and put the airbox on and noticed it didnt seem to be as tight as i thought it should, the curves of the airlid match the curves in the airbox, Everyone keeps talking about another "gasket".. I dont think i have that gasket, unless its allready attached to the filter.. Some help would be appreciated..

I wouldn't reset the computer - I don't see what you'd gain from that.

There is a foam gasket that comes with every K&N for the LS1. It is supposed to line the underside of the lid. I'm sure if you'd look at your factory setup, it'll have one on it. You'll have to go to the local parts store and "borrow" a gasket from another filter. The part number 332218
