Help on exhaust.

Help on exhaust.
Right now I have the stock exhaust with just a cutout and it makes a god awful sound when I start the car. Sounds like a weak siren going off....I don't know what it is. Did it before the cutout was on, but not as bad.
Anyway, I'm thinking of going with some shorty headers and a TSP TD setup. I don't have to worry about passing emissions so I was wondering if I could just get some headers and the TSP setup and be done with it. I was gonna throw some turndowns on the end of course, but that's it.
Would it be too loud? Would it sound like ****? Will any set of headers work with the TSP setup?
I DID search...

Depending on your current mods shorties won't give you a big gain. You should really look into a set of pacesetter long tubes and then throw on the TD from TSP. Is there a certain reason you want shorty headers?

No, not really. I just don't want BIG clearance issues. My old LT1 TA had enough of those. I rarely scrape my new TA anywhere. Will there be that big of a difference in clearance? If not, I'd damn sure go for the LT's. Thanks.

I really don't think there will be a big difference because the TSP TD system sit down low under the car anyways so you should do the LT's. See if anyone has some pics of the of the new TD system I saw a pic earlier this week but cant remember who the were. try search first. I'll see if I cant track it down.

Going the shorty route with the TSP setup is just gonna cost you more. You have to get the TDs refabbed to fit shorty headers.
Just go Pacesetter LTs w/ TSP TDs and be done with it.
Check the external engine section.

You need LONGtubes
I rarely scrape anything on my car, and my apartment complex has big *** speedbumps. You just have to be carefull how/where you drive and it is perfectly fine.

Alright, well long tubes it is. Next week I'm gonna order some Pacesetter coated LT headers. I don't need to worry about emissions, so do I need to order any special type of headers? Also, will a LT header, TSP TD set-up be too loud? I'm just gonna dump it where the TD set-up ends, prob with some turndowns.
EDIT: any difference or pros/cons to the TSP TD's compared to the Speed Inc. TD's? Any better companies out there?

First the sound you're hearing is probably your AIR pump firing up.
Second don't mess with shorty's if you don't have to (CA) get the longtubes or at least MAC's

As for the headers, make sure you get them coated
