Default Steering Whine~

everytime i make a right or left turn... i hear this whinning noises from power steering...what is wrong with it?? could it be my power steering cooler??? i have 02 WS_6.. M6 please help ~~

I'll assume you already checked the fluid? If not, please do so, but if so, then it might be the pump.

Mine did the same thing--- having the pump replaced today.

I'd say that it would be hard to pinpoint the problem without tearing the pump down...

Same story here. It's not a huge whine, but its noticable. (You are not talking about when you have the wheel 'locked' left or right correct, because thats a diff story)

Turns out that it's my alternator, not the PS pump. Oh, well- the ps pump was shot anyway.

Mine whined but it turned out to be low on fluid. topped it off and it went away

I had a whining in my car but it always went away when my wife got out....

maybe just flush and refill the fluid with good synthetics.

then just run it until it dies.

mine does the the whine thing too. but only when its cold.
