I dont have a Carfax account, but I just typed it into their free search engine which only basically tells you whether or not hey have any info on that car. It said that the VIN is invalid. I noticed there is a space in the middle. I tried it with and without the space. VINs shouldnt have a space, but I tried it anyway. Without the space its one character too short to be a valid VIN. According to CarFax, a VIN must be 17 characters. Did you type it wrong? If not, then he gave you the wrong/invalid VIN.

Did the original owner buy this car in North America? That is not a valid NA VIN. I'm not sure what sort of VINs the export cars get though.

All modern (4th gen) F-bodies will have VINs starting as 2G1F (chevy) or 2G2F (pontiac).

What starts with 2g1f? the vin you have in your first post is to a 2003 saturn vue with no accidents or insurance claims to date. If you want the saturn it sounds o.k., but it's no 98Z. Sorry man!

I wasn't sure if you were saying that the last vin was valid if I were to insert the first 4 prefixes. With the "new" vin the car checks out o.k.
98 Z, 3 registered owners. No accidents or incidents. Last registered milage was 93K in 6/2004 when it passed emissions testing.
Hope this helps!
