There's nothing wrong with the Gtech, i don't see why you would say that we don't like them. They are a great tuning tool if you get them calibrated correctly.

Hell I just went on Ebay and bought one after seeing this thread. I'm willing to gamble 34 bucks. Looks like a brand new meter to me. Been thinking of buying one for a while anyway.

Is someone selling multiple ones for $34 each or did you just happen to find one? If someone selling 'em that cheap can I have a link, please? FWIW in the new Summit there's a 2 1/16" autometer gauge that does all of that G-Tech stuff. 1/4 mile, 0-60, 60-0, G force, and HP. It's like $200 and fits in a gauge pod.

They may not have the greatest agreement with track MPH numbers,
but relative accuracy is fine for use as a tuning tool, you will not find
any quantitative performance feedback method that beats it for the
price and convenience. For power tuning I prefer to look at the raw
acceleration (g) at a few different RPM, at WOT on the highway as
I run up through 2nd gear. That's low enough speed to ignore wind,
and out of the traction-limited area too (unlike the 1/4 mile readings).
If you tune to acceleration at 4K, 5K and 6KRPM you won't go far
wrong in my view.

i have a g-tech pro ss that i got for christmas. i've read the ET can be pretty close and the 60' time is VERY close. have to set the pitch factor correctly for them to work well.
what do you guys set your's at? it says 3.0 for somthing soft like a ford taurus and i think 1.0 for somthing stiffer like a BMW m3. i set mine at like 2 (i *think*).

The one on ebay is obviously not the newest model, but I still think it's well worth 34 dollars. They sent me a delivery tracking number right after I ordered mine and have great feedback. Worth a shot anyways.
