New to the site and looking at a 99 NBM Z28...
I was hoping to get a few quick opinions and ideas about a 99 Z28 I'm looking. The good news is the car looks clean in the picture. It has beige leather int. NBM ext, all power, 6spd, Carfax at request, t-tops and the asking price is $8999.The possible down side is the miles but they are average for the year at 87.5k. The thing I don't like is it's at a small whole sale dealer not too far from here in central NJ, I'm always leary of these places but funny enough I found my MINT 92 at one.
I currently still own that 92 Z28 L98 going on 8 years plus. It's gone a best of 13.521 on a 1.77 60ft so far with the stock engine, bolt ons, through manifolds and stock 3:23 rear. I have a ton of pictures, time slips, info and movies on my web site www.thirdgenz28.com if you are at all interested(the site is ugly but I'm HTML stupid so it's limited but gets the job done). Chances are if you run at Atco or E-town I'll run into you before long. I may even have footage of you from SLP Days or time trials possibly. Here is a pic of the 92 as shes sits now waiting for a repaint. 1992 L98 Z28
If all goes very well I hope to keep both Z28s BUT if the 99 is that clean I'd keep it and sell the 92 as either of these are weekend/time trial cars, my daily is a newer 4x4. I know a decent amount about F-bodies in general but I'll be searching the topic. I was just looking for a head start if anyone has anything to offer up in the ways of what to look for, common problems specific to 98-up or what kind of deal that car is for the price in your opinion (good or bad). If the deal falls through as I tend to be picky don't be surprised if I hang around. If not now an LS1 4thgen is in my future it's just a matter of when. Thanks in advance for any advice or info!

I put in for a Carfax but I don't think I'll need it but thanks anyways! The car is from NY and is now in Linden. The place it's at is small and mixed in with a TON of other small auto wholesale places. Over all the car is clean. I thought I saw some orange peel on the passenger side door other than that the body was straight and pretty clean. The inside was nice too except for the side window tint that will have to be removed. It had a Borla exhaust it looked like and some minor rust under it which may or may not be a problem except that it was from Upstate NY(I'd want it on a lift to be sure). My gut feeling told me to pass but I definitely like the feel of the 4thgens. For now I'm keeping the 92 Z28 but if I happen across the right 98-up LS1 4thgen I'll be all over it.
If anyone wants the info for the car let me know. He really didn't want to budge off his $8,995 asking price, MAYBE a hundred or so he said. It comes with a 3 month 4k mile warranty or something like that as well.

I'd say go for it, but you could probably find one with closer to 50K mi or even less I dunno....
If you wait, and watch, the reward will be great...
I always preach this...bought my '99 with 4.11s & Flowmaster, all else stock, for $11500 with ~24K miles and flawless...mines a blow out manifold-to-Y-pipe gasket...~$10 I think lol...I didnt even bother...once I got the Y off I said I aint doing it again...ordered the LTs..
Cash or finance? Cash certainly help with bringing the price down...just take wht your willin to spend up there and show it to them lol...
