Default whistling from the exhuast

A friend of mine has a 2000 z28 and every now a then he tells me that his car whistle's through the exhuast system for about 5-10 min, then stops. Has anybody had this happen to them and what could it be. Thanks!

AIR pump maybe? Should only come on for a short while after starting the motor. But is he sure it's going for 5-10 mins? AIR should only stay on for a couple mins at the longest after a cold start......

Maybe we should ask Bubb Rubb about the whistling.

Woo Woo!!10n3

It's probably just the AIR pump. Mine used to do it all the time. Sounded like a damn UFO...so I just hacked it off.

Thanks for the help. He said it comes on for about 1 min, then quits.
