Talking Looking to get into some V8 power... newb here!!

Whats up all... been lurking around this forum for some time now.. but never registered cause i didnt think i would ever buy an ls1 powered car. (insurance would kill me) but after a year of takin it easy on the gas.. my insurance has dropped dramatically.. in fact insurance would be cheaper to buy a 00-02 z28/ T-A than my honda, so im in the process of getting rid of my honda and joining all you guys over here... im sick of the honda realm... and want some serious power. I was wondering what the differences between a 00 z28 / and a 00 T-A were? if any. Im still debating which to go for. any help/direction would be great... and um glad to be a part of this forum now.

The main differance between a Z28 and A T/A is in the looks department.
Mechanicly the same car. IMO the T/A's interior is slightly better.
T/A's tend to drive a higher price in my area. So I say find the best deal you can.
Happy hunting and keep us informed.

welcome aboard

you'll be happy with either one, pick which one you think looks better and go with it. they are basically the same car.

I was in your shoes as far as insurance, my driving record is not the best by far. To my surprise the z28 isn't really any more to insure than my Integra was. I like the looks of the TA, more than the Z. In fact if I had it to do over again I would have saved a little longer and picked up a WS6, sweet looking machines they are. The only drawback about the TA is the back of the car. I pictured it without the spoiler and it was reminiscent of a Sunfire. I truely think you will be happy with either choice.

Damian has a 98 SS for sale in the southern section and it is in excellent condition. It only has like 48,000 miles and it's a 98 so it will be cheaper on insurance. Here's a link and there is another link in that thread with pics. IIRC it has over 450 RWHP.
Check it out. https://ls1tech.com/forums/southern-members/297281-ss-back-sale.html

I think it's the other way around, the sunfire looks like a mini-firebird/TA.
