Cool New Owner of a 2000 SOM SS 6-speed.

Hey guys,

I just purchased my first LS1, its a 2000 Sunset Orange Metallic SS 6-speed with 35k miles, 100% bone stock. This bad boy is prolly gunna be a garage queen, too nice to drive IMO.

Its gunna stay stock because im 18 (dont worry I take very good care of my cars) , and have 2 other cars (11 sec Eagle Talon tsi AWD, beater *** volvo 850 t5r).

Someone wanna check my VIN ??

$17,000 OTD.

Hmmm, that color was not offered until the '01 build year, but I did read somewhere that there were a few SOM '00 cars built at the very end of the '00 build year for paint-color-testing purposes. That could be a very rare car...Best wishes with it. WJ

Hmm, thats kinda wierd, i do know it was previously owned by a GM employee. It is definately a 2000 model year.

SOM wasn't offered until 2001. This is strange. Very sweet color though, I LOVE mine!

Post up some pics, especially of the engine bay. I'd be willing to bet since it would be such a late procudtion '00 model that you have the "better" 241 casting heads. Congrats on the purchase.

In 2000, there were only 13 SOM cars made, they were all sold to GM employees, only 1 was a 6-speed coupe, i own it, im very proud to say i own a 1 of a kind.
