well, if youre looking for an immediate gain..do the cam and pulley. i myself would do the rear. not for the 3.73's, but for the added security. you can always do a cam swap later, but if you have the money for a new rear, i would say thats a better investment. cams will come and go, but the rear should last you for a while.

Definately go with the rear end. We all know the 10 bolts dont hold up. So if you go get a rear end, then you wont have to worry about it breaking, and then when you get your cam done, you can have all kinds of fun and be worry free about it breaking.

This has been debated before, but if you've got the M6 definately go with the 4.10's over the 3.73's if you decide to do that. I would have, but mine came with the 3.73's from the previous owner.

Go with the cam, you'll pick up a lot of power and the car will be a lot more fun to drive. If you don't put sticky tires on the rear, the 10 bolt will last. I launch at 2500 rpm with crappy tires and only run 2.0X's 60 foot times. But the car really comes on after the 1/8 mile mark and runs over 113mph.

the safe thing to do would be to get the rear. The much more fun thing to do would be get the cam and pulley. And who wants to be safe

Depends on your intended use for the car. If you will be drag racing a lot ge the rear end. If it's just a daily driver/street car you should be perfectly fine on the stock rear.

i think youll be ok doing that. Maybe buy a rearend girdle for a little added insurance. Might want to keep the 3:42's as well depending on what kind of cam you get. If you dont drag 2 much i think u should be fine.

I would go with the cam. cam + install and pulleys is still going to be significantly cheaper than 12-bolt installed. No need to replace it if it's not broken yet,,and a cam will help break the 10-bolt

all of you guys preaching to get gears obviously havent had a 10 bolt blow up while you're driving down the street!
the problem is, when you put in a good gear, you need a tire to hook it up or else you're pissin in the wind. but then when you put a tire under it, it goes to pieces on you! i would say DO NOT touch that 10 bolt untill you're removing it.
3.42 to 3.73 isnt enough of a jump to make a **** and 4.10 is asking for trouble (especially with a cam).
i would get your cam and stuff, then throw a nice cover w/ preload screws and a stud kit on the 10 bolt to get at least SOME security out of it. even then you should leave easy and pray alot. start a piggy bank for a 12 bolt
i'm kinda glad that my 10 bolt blew up sometimes so i wouldnt be in the position that you're in

Do the rear end while you have the chance you wont regret it. Whats the point of having all that power with a cam if you cant go anywhere? Get a rear end and get some MT's and dead hook

if i were you, i would just hate to spend money on a cam when you can't even launch the car hard. plus, every car is different, maybe your 10 bolt will hold up but some don't even hold up with bolt ons. Then say if your rear breaks, you're SOL if you don't have the money for it
