Default Opinions Please...

What do you guys thinks about a 99 TA with 115,000 for $8000? The car has a cam and full exuast(longtubes to a Corsa) with a tune and some other small stuff. Body and paint looks good. KBB says $8300 and NADA is really high but I need advice from some actual owners.

Do LS1's go the distance mileage wise like LT1's (provided you take care of em)or no. Maybe I just answered my own question but oh well.

What do you guys think?

I think you could probably find a better deal if you waited. F-bodies are dirt cheap right now. Which really sucks for guys like me who just had to sell one.

Good luck.

I personally wouldn't buy a modded 115,000 mile LS1. Like he ^^ said, LS1's are dirt cheap right now. Modded turns some people off and so does mileage. Combine the two....

hmm i don't know...i'd go and check it out...i bought my 98 with 98k miles on it for 10k...it had all the mods in my sig...-the tune, oil pump, timing chain, and a few other little things i have had to do...i feel as if i got a great deal since that is over 7,000 in mods that i would have done if i would of bought one...but my goals may be different than yours...i really didn't care about mileage since a lot of the stuff was replaced and the stuff that isn't will be (rear, transmission) anyhow because of the power that will eventually come...so i don't think that that is too bad of a deal

one more thing i did quite a bit of research on the car...i bought it from a guy on here...so you can somewhat track his posts and see what all he has done and what not...so i felt fairly comfortable with it...i know it's been raced a little and driven somewhat hard but what ls1 hasn't...it's going to be my race car eventually instead of my daily driver

I am getting a lot of negatives on the price. What would yall pay for it. It has a rebuilt tranny in it with a Z06 clutch. I verified it through the dealer were he takes it to get serviced.

Edit: It wasn't rebuilt, it was a tranny with 7000 miles out of a wrecked F-body I think he said. He said the car came in for it about a 1yr ago according to the records and it was a warranty repair.

Actually, IMO $8k isn't too bad. Cam and full exhaust plus a low mile rebuilt tranny with slightly upgraded clutch isn't a bad car. I just dont know that I'd want to start off with 115,000 miles....
