SLP air lid question
Hey just ordered my SLP airlid for 2000-2002 cars. Do I absolutely need to have some kind of breather filter on the lid or does the SLP lid come with the correct pieces to make everything work? Ordered lid from ls1speed.com.

Also, when you put the MAF into the neck of the SLP lid did the lid fit all the way up and under the bolts or was it stopped by a 1/4 inch tab on the MAF? Thanks!

Darn... you made me go look.
The hose was a little floppy, and I almost put on a zip tie. Instead, I shorten the hose from SLP a little near the elbow (about 0.50"-0.75"), so the hose sits nicely against the rad cover (and away from the PS pulley). See picture before I cut it...

You're right... The neck of my lid sits just off the 1/4" long tab on the MAF (the tab is on the pass side, about 135 deg from the top). I had forgot about that. I suppose you could notch the lid, but I think it's fine the way it is.

I just bought the whisper lid and K&N filter. It said I also needed the breather filter, so I bought it. Haven't installed it yet. I've ordered a cam, so I'll probably do everything all at once. Also got a 160degreee tstat. These are my first major mods. I changed the exhaust system, but that's pretty much all. I'm excited!
