New here--not even sure I am in the right place. Trying to get information on dropping a 5.3 into a 1954 Corvette. I have the truck engine, but looking for conversion parts like the power steering pump.

I am also using a truck motor for my swap and have purchased an accessory drive kit from GM for my swap.

You may find you are missing a bolt location on the drivers side of the block, if you are using an iron block truck engine. It is needed to mount some of the parts for car accessories.

The car I am using could benefit from any space I could save in front of the engine so I purchased a CTS-V accessory kit part # 19290770. Which includes new OEM brackets, hardware, serp belt, and the belt driven accessories like power steering pump/reservoir and alternator. The kit I chose is minus A/C and required I buy a different crank pulley.

GM has several kits with different options, I purchased my kit from Jegs and the suggested Balancer from amazon. I am using an aluminum L33 so I happen to have the needed tab and bolt location in place already.

To add to this. Sometimes the right fasteners and screws can be as difficult to track down as the parts, so here's what I've found on this:

Retainers for wheel well liners are usually listed as GM 11589290, but these are push-in type. Mine were originally screw in type, so exact replacement is actually: GM 20664092.
Head Diameter:11/16"
Stem Length: 7/8"
Fits into 1/4" hole

Screw fasteners for wheel well liners are either #8 hex head with washer or M4.2-1.41 Hex Washer Head Sems Screw. I can't find the actual GM part number for these. I'm also not sure at this point if mine are original or not but mine are all self-tapping screw type.

I purchased my motor (5.3L) and Tranny separately for my swap and now that I am bolting it together I find that I am missing some stuff but don't know the name or part numbers. Does anyone know the part number or have a schematic for the plate that the starter passes through. You can see the black plate in the attached screen shot from a youtube video. I just have a gaping hole there. Is there one for the other side as well?

While I'm asking, Does anyone know what else goes between the tranny and engine? I have the fly wheel and torque converter but since the plate is missing I wonder if I might be missing something else. I'm a complete novice so I know basically nothing.

Thanks

Where can I cross reference a GM part number to an AC Delco part number?
I am looking for a water pump for my LS conversion and there are different part numbers out there. I am just trying to sort everything out.
What I did find so far is that a GM 19256263 is the same as an AC Delco 251-744. This water pump is for the 1997 - 2004 Corvette.

It looks like AC Delco 252-921 and GM 89018052 are the same water pump.

AC Delco 252-921 ~ LS1/LS2 pump
AC Delco 251-726 ~ LS7 pump

I just have to find the GM part number for AC Delco 251-726 and the AC Delco part number for GM 12604630.

I am looking to cross reference the following part numbers:
GM 89018052 and 12604630.
AC Delco 252-921 and 251-726 .

The GM 12604630 is the 2009 up water pump with the drivers outlet.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

To Camaros-n-Chevelles
Delco# 251-726=19180591
GM# 89018052=89018052 Delco# is same on some parts
GM# 12604630= Does not have Delco# and is only available inside a kit does not show it is available by its self.
Delco# 252-921= 88879876

Hope this helps out.

The AC belt is a separate belt .It runs the AC only.. So the serp wouldn't matter.

How about the post the battery cable bolts to on the junction box?

I'm actually putting a box together from scratch for another project.
