98 ls1? umm i have been checking out some 98 ls1 ones and have found some good ones for under 10k and some 99s but with a lil bit of high milage. But when i am on this forum i don't realy see to many of em, is there something i should know about the 98's or are they just like all the other ls1 ones?
oh i know about the ls6 intake, anything other than that?

there are tons of good threads on 98's in this forum. They are just as good as any other ls1. I have mine less than 70K , runs just as strong as an 02. And not too mention they will save you $$$$$$...!

Nothing wrong with '98s. I've had a '98 (Z28), a '99 (Z28), and a '00 (WS6) LS1s. The '98 has actually been the strongest one stock.

i sought out a '98, i guess the appeal of having the first year of the new gen , ahh i love it , plus 1998 was a good year , year of the tiger, my '98 is running great, besides eating tires , brakes, and the small motors(i.e. window , lights etc) shes perfect , but these are common for any year f-body, besides, these cars dont hold value (blue book wise , not to say we don't keep them close to our heart [sniffle, tear] ) so why try to get all "newer car" about it. just make sure to get the car full out inspected, and i say that even if you go for a '01 , but this is coming from someone who didnt even see her car till it was bought, but still be careful , i did test drive one and the differentual went out as i was driving it , and another t/a that was leaking differntual fluid, so i guess check the differentual , it costs like 4k to replace the back end, so look for that, okay enough rambling, just don't worry about the age, thats not important when buying a car

leaking or moist? Big difference. All 98's will have a moist rear end. I believe it was the 01 and newer that had a different design, if I am not mistaken.

and thank you for reading my non-sensical rambling , i have never had to replace a rear -end , this is what that guy that tried to sell me the dead rear -ended '98 said, i dunno , but i do need a 12-bolt, epsecially since we race her . okay off topic , sorry its one of those days
