Question SLP lid or Cold Air....

I was wondering if I should go with the SLP Lid or the Cold Air kit they offer, which one's put out the most bang for the buck????

Get both. The cold air is around $150, not hard to install, and every horse counts.

Basically, lids don't differ in performance gains between brands...the SLP lid, however, is made of a sturdier grade of plastic and is a very nice piece...as is the supplemental cold air kit...the duct is made of stainless steel...I had both on my SS at one time and would recommend them...

For the price versus performance just do the free ram air mod and call it a day. Any lid is fine.

Neither.

Read common newbie mistakes, a thread started by JRP, one of the most senior mods on this board:

I thank JRP every day for that quote...

There are literally hundreds of posts from people who have experienced fitment issues with SLP, especially their lids. I had their CAI on my LT1 Camaro, and it was way too far over towards the passenger side.

Oh, and FTRA stands for Fast Toys Ram Air: http://fasttoys.net/shop/product_inf...products_id=28

If I had it to do over I'd go with this

http://www.lmperformance.com/2387/1.html

It seals to hood and just looks cool. As it stands now I have a lid and slp cold air.

get the ftra or slp ram air with a lid, best mods for intake, unless you do something like SUX2BU did to his car.

Cutting the bottom out of the stock air box, ducting air to it. Do a search for very detailed info/instructions.

For the record I have the Volant CAI.
