I need advice
Ok guys, Im about to sell my car for hopefully 8500( Honda) and Im already looking to buy an LS1.
The car is a 1999 Z28 with 107K in miles for only 8500 OBO. It is a 6 speed with power everything and in pristine condition. Only downside, it was some ugly LT1 rims and the amount of miles. What is the most I should offer him? I like that its a 6 speed and in my price range. Will I get a better chance at a car with lower mileage? Or take it and when I get some more money sell that one and get a newer SS? If I go look at it, its a 2 hour drive it would probably be to buy, what should I look for in the engine? Just overall a basic car inspection...
Thanks for any info guys

shouldnt, automatics are actually more than manuals on the open market. if you go to a dealership youll see that automatics are more than manuals just for the fact that they are automatics.

If you can spend a little more do it. There are some real clean 2000-2002's that I've seen over 10 G's. If you stick with a 2000 or newer you won't have the same issues with the clutch, slave, and master cylinder when its clutch time. Those cars should already have the LS6 manifold from the factory. Those are just a couple of costly upgrades that GM came up a little short for the rest of us. They also have steering controls for conveniance and look out for those rear end's because it will let go, especially as you strengthen the chassis and go with a lighter flywheel. My 99 has 114,000 miles and all it needs is new leather. Good Luck!

The clutch master and slave cylinder will add another 450 bucks when it is replaced, unless it has already been upgraded on top of the clutch and labor. With that money you can get a lightweight flywheel that will make a real difference. Patience is on your side, most of these cars have taken a beating at some point so be careful. Good luck finding a clean SS for 10G's, it could happen. Happy hunting.
