just bought a new 33k 2000 SS, any warranty recommendations? i just bought my car from a private party and would like to get a warranty for it. is it even possible to get a warranty for a car purchased through private party? is it possible to get the gm protection plan?

Yes. It is possible. I got a few warranties through my bank that I got a loan from. Never had one on the T/A, though. We had a saturn for a while and the warranty we bought was about $500. Then we got a Durango and they wanted $1200. We opted OUT of that one...

This site should be helpful. Just make sure you do research on the company. I had 1SourceAutoWarranty but they recently went out of business. I ended up going with my credit union for a warranty. It may not be the best, but I feel more secure that the company will be around if I need to file a claim.
