Default Launching at the drag strip...

I've been to the track a few times and I'm just wondering what works best for launching? Maybe post some of your own methods for better times...I am always looking for good ideas in that department I've tried a few different methods the one that has given me the best times is to...hold the RPMs at about 2K and when it turns green slip the clutch out and accelerate...am I doing it all wrong?? Ideas are appreciated! Mind you I am on street tires and not slicks...

Launch with as much rpm's as you can without the tires spinning. Iusually just kinda let of the clutch smoothly and fast apply rpms. That usually keeps the car from spinning but when you speed shift to second it usually breaks the tires loose
