Question Just bought a 2000 WS6, some questions...

Soon as i can get back on my feet money wise, i was wondering how long of a job is it to throw some headers in there? I already had to replace one of the knock sensors, and it took almost 3 hours, the intake wasn't fun pulling off lol. I already put some 10 - 30 mobil on synthetic in there, and was wondering what else i should do within $$$$ reason. I want to get exhaust, but i don't like the sound of SLP's..... was wondering how a Flowmaster 40 or 80 series would sound. Can't think of anything else right now, but heres a picture of my new whip LINK

meh, stay away from the flowmaster...I'de just put a cutout on it and call it a day. Headers are far from impossible to do yourself, you should be able to figure those out....just make sure to jack the car up reeeallly high.

Where in NJ are you located? I have a SLP lid and K&N filter I can sell you for cheap. 2 good first mods. Agreed with above steer clear of Flowmaster, they choke the hell outta LS1 cars. Hooker is a nice cheap option that sounds/flows real nice. $275 I got mine for, and the system really wakes up with headers. PM me if you are interested in the lid/filter, I don't feel like shipping and if we can meet that would be easy, I am in NE Philly.

Now i went to the LS1sounds.com and listened to everything. I made sure everything was stock except the catback, and some of the SLP cars sounded different from each other. There was one that was poppy, and another that sounded GREAT. Is it like a hit or miss with that poppy sound?
