Default WS6 vs. Formula... Plz someone answer!

Ok, im not sure if this is the right colulm to be posting this thread on, but i couldnt think of any colum to put this thread on. Can someone plz tell me exactly what the difference between a ws6 and a firebird formula... both ls1, ws6 has functional ram air? maybe better tuning? ws6 rated 13.5 or 13.4 stock vs formula rated 13.9? How can it be that much of a difference and what mods or things i can do to match up to a ws6? Thanks alot for your input.

Mostly body differences, I believe the WS6 has different exhaust, suspension and wheels..but as far as the motor, they are exactly the same
I think the TA/Formula are rated at 305 HP, where the WS6 is 320...due to more free flowing exhaust

ya man, what everyone else has said...an LS1 is an LS1, as far as performance between a WS6 and a plain trans am or a formula...or a SS compared to a Z28...they are gonna run almost ecactly the same times in the 1/4 mile (with the same year, same driver of course)....the whole WS6 and SS was a marketing thing for GM, but if you look at statistics, they all roughly pull off the same times at the track... the cars were under rated from the factory and the 305 hp and 320 hp or whatever means nothing. AN LS1 IS AN LS1

The WS6 came stock with a 10 shot, thats how it got 13.4. Formula is N/A at 13.9.

Take a gander at this; not really what you were wanting to know, but I think it's info you would like to see or soon be asking.

The T/A and Formula are both MODELS of the Firebird that came equipped with the exact same LS1 engine. The WS6 PACKAGE is an upgrade available on the T/A from 96 on and on the Formula only until 2000. A Formula can be a WS6 and visa versa, but not all Formulas are WS6's and not all WS6's are Formulas.
